If you have purchased one of my unique teddy bears with a hand sculpted clay face for your own collection, or as a gift, please read on!!
Unfortunately it has been brought to my attention that several of my original creations, that are now 3 to 5 years old, are not holding together as I had expected. It seems that the epoxy that I had used to set in
their hand sculpted faces is not withstanding the test of time.
All of these bears are truly one of a kind creations, even though some were made very similar so had to be numbered as small limited editions. Because every one
has been sculpted by hand, no two were actually identical. There are no more than two hundred of these bears in circulation world-wide. I truly hope that all
two hundred of them are not suffering from the same problem, but as for those that need repair work to be done, please contact me and send them my way.
The few who have contacted me so far are noticing that the faces are coming loose from the fur of the head, due to the epoxy not being strong enough to last
over the period of time that has gone by. Some are experiencing the foot pads as well not holding firmly to the bear’s feet.
Please know that I can and will fix these bears for you! Every bear was very time consuming to create, which was work that I loved doing, and I appologise for this
problem! I have not created any more of this style of bear since 2003, and do not plan to again, until I am more confident with the long term performance of the new
cement-epoxy that I will use to do necessary repairs.
Please package these bears carefully and return them to me at:
Angie Rogers’ Handmade Bears, P.O. Box 185, Gray, Maine 04039 USA
Each bear should have it’s face wrapped gently in some kind of plastic before being boxed for shipping. I will fix these bears and return them to you free of
charge, but I will need to you to pay to have them shipped to me. I can only receive these through the Post Office, sorry no UPS or Fed Ex. Please call me at
207-428-4415 if you have any further questions. Again, I appologise, and still thank you for your business in the past. I intend to continue by bear making
career regardless of this set back! Please enclose your contact information with every bear sent to me, and kindly allow me 4 to 6 weeks to repair and return your bears to you.
